I’m just weighing some maths,

and I though I would just do it on a public page in case it helps you.

 

I want to book a couple of halls, approach some venues, play a pretty gig.

I’d love to do it with some other artists, but that means communicating with them, and waiting for them to communicate with me.

Life. Happens.

 

1st Venue:

Costs $550+ gst to book, and they offer $350 for sound and engineer. So, to book that venue, costs: $550 + 55 + 350 = $995.

This does not include advertising. However, they do have a mailing list.

They recommend you sell 90 x Tickets at $30 each. $2,700. Making $1,705.

If I made it cheap tickets, like $20 or $25. and only sold 40 tickets, I wouldn’t make any money to cover my petrol, or advertising, or cover the cost of hiring the venue.

This just isn’t feasible…

2nd Venue:

Community Hall $200 half day rate.

Run singing workshop in early afternoon, early evening gig.

Keep it cheap. but you need to gather the people, and get help to run it. Cupcake stall; tea and coffee legend; Keep tickets cheap = The World is broken.

Ok.

I’ll book it.
