the Singing Book
Your own personnal Singing Book, full of exercises, homework
activities and songwriting tasks, is available to purchase as a
work-book for your music theory development and vocal growth.

In any music store you walk in to, you will find a range of books that slowly show you vocal exercises, as well as a massive pile of books teaching you music theory.
I have recently conpleted writing my own Singing Book, to be used hand in hand with Singing Lessons, which steps you through various homework exercises, vocal drills, music theory lessons and songwriting tasks.
The book is divided into two major sections: Vocal Techniques, and Music Theory. The two sections are designed to be worked through simultaneously. This book is aimed at the High school age group- to around the grade 3 or 4 AMEB standard, but is suitable for ages younger and older. Currently my youngest student is 8 and my oldest is ... a grandfather.
You can purchase this Singing WorkBook by emailing me.
Retail Price is $39.00

I do not claim to know all there is to know about singing, vocal techniques, theory, performance and music!!!! No! Does anyone? Really?
However, my experience includes having completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with Honours (Southern Cross University, NSW, 2003), growing up in the Northern Rivers taking contemporary or classical singing lessons since the age of 14yrs till 23yrs, having focused on African dance and music styles for a period of time, learning (or constantly trying to learn...) the spanish language, and whilst going through some vocal "trouble"; learning about speech and vocal therapy.
I have performed in large funk bands, small pop bands, in duo's and as a solo artist. I have studied jazz standards since before i thought i could do them.
.... All of which has brought me to where I am today. And through these processes i have learnt that i love to share information. i love to be part of the inspiration process. i love singing and i love seeing a student and friend progress, develop and succeed.
This is my approach to giving singing lessons and sharing my musical knowledge. To share. To create. To laugh and to have fun. To not stress. To challenge and inspire. Nothing should hurt.
I promise to be honest with you, and to tread lightly with you, as this sound of your voice, that you allow to share with me is personal and is to be treated with respect, joy and love. I don't want to get all Byron Bay, hippie on you :) I promise i won't start asking you to meditate, standing on one foot on the back of a dolphin, but i have been teaching and singing long enough to know that it can be really very scary, really very tremendous, and really very rewarding and fulfilling.
I believe there is room enough in this grand old world for each of us to express ourselves and stand tall by that. And if you choose to do that by writing or singing a song, as I do, then I'd love to help you.... because i think I can.
This is me.
