Shelly is a singer, songwriter, poet and teacher. She grew up helping her dad, Howard Hughes, make aeroplanes, which is to say~ she grew up believing, pursueing and enjoying dreams. Whilst currently performing with a new up and coming Australian Band, Red Bantoo, Shelly squeaks out the time, finding poems and thoughts and heart felt words to slide in to music with the stunning sounds of Dan Brown on keys and when it suits, pulling out the electric guitar.
Shelly has performed with Si Durrington and Ben Walshe (The Bird), Dave Atkins (Wolf Mother/Resin Dogs), Pete Wilkins (Blue King Brown), Matt Smith (Thirsty Merc), Keppie (Delta Goodrem), Greg Sheehan (Byron Bay), Matt Ledger (Wild Marmalade), Mr Darren Percival (Sydney), Greg Lyons and Jim Kelly (Crossfire) and Howard Hughes.....
Shelly has performed at CAMA Festival (Vietnam), Woodford Folk Festival, Island Vibes Festival, York Jazz Festival, Peats Ridge Music Festival, the Lantern Parade (Lismore), Nimbin Mardi Grass, Byron Bay New Years Celebrations and won a talent show in Fiji. If it werent for that impending cyclone, she couldve picked up her prize too.
Shelly proudly plays the Lowden Acoustic Guitar, from Ireland.
