Local Soul songstress releases new Film Clip for new single “Twisted”. (Alongside a stunning band of local talent and the one and only Dan Brown on keys).

Kellie Knight and the Daze sound like a blend of your favourite retro soul vinyl mixed with future gangsta funk and topped with mighty jazz improvisation, shaken together like a cool martini.

Kicking off in 2011 in their hometown of Byron Bay, the Daze have cut their teeth at late night grungy venues and have emerged at some of Australia’s favourite festivals such as Byron Bay Blues Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival and Woodford Folk Festival.

Their debut single “TWISTED” released in March 2015 won them “Jazz song of the year” in 2014’s NCEIA music awards, judged by the likes of Kirk Pengilly (INXS), Mark Gable (Choirboys), Marcus Schintler (Weddings Parties Anything), Murray Burnes (Mi-Sex).

In 2015 songs “Humanity” won them best World/Reggae and “Everything is one” won them best Urban/Hiphop/Funk.

Fans of Sharon Jones and the Dapkings or Amy Winehouse will enjoy the energy of this live show with the banter amongst the musicians, whilst appreciators of singers such as Adele or Aretha will be swayed by Kellie Knights unique blend of full strength belting and subtle jazz sensibility.

Kellie Knight and the Daze have taken out Best Urban/Funk song for “Everything is One” and Best World/Reggae music for “Humanity” at the recent NCEIA music awards, making their debut EP “Twisted” a multi award winning collection.
